Requirements
  1. For starting the KFK, you should successfully completed at least a couple of basic marketing courses such as ABWL Marketing Part 1 (EK) and Part 2 (FK). This is essential as the KFK assumes that you have previous marketing knowledge.
  2. Before taking the course IM2, you have to successfully complete IM1.
  3. Before taking the course IMR2, you have to successfully complete IMR1 and IDA
  4. Before taking the course AIM, you have to successfully complete IM1, IMR1 and IDA
  5. For taking the Seminar, it is necessary to have completed the Module IMR (IMR1+IMR2).
  6. IMSS can be done in any sequence you like.
  7. Fluent English and good German are required for most KFK courses, as research projects and essential literature require both languages. The same applies to Diplomarbeiten and Master Theses.

The minimum time it takes to complete the KFK is three semesters. Two alternative options are shown below.

Information for Master Students

Students who are registered or intend to register for the KFK International Marketing should be aware that the module "International Marketing (IM1+IM2)" cannot be taken if a student has already taken and passed the module "International Marketing" as part of his/her Bachelor degree at the University of Vienna.

Such students can instead choose to take the module "Global Corporate Strategy" (offered by the Chair "Internationale Unternehmungsführung").

Non-BWL Module

For passing the KFK, you have to also successfully complete one Non-BWL-Module, covering 4 hours/week, from the list below.

KFK Oral Exam

If you have completed ALL modules of the KFK International Marketing and decide to take our oral KFK examination you must follow the following procedure:

 1.  REGISTRATION AT THE StudienServiceCenter (SSC)

Submit the necessary forms to the SSC:

Please be aware of the processing period of approximately two work weeks (and take holidays, etc. into account).

The SSC will notify you by email as soon as your confirmation of admission to the exam is ready to pick up.

 2.  REGISTRATION AT OUR CHAIR

After having received the signed admission form, please submit it to our secretariat. Please notice that we CANNOT register you without the admission form! You must do this one week before the exam date AT THE LATEST!

 3.  THE ORAL EXAM

The exam will be in English. Examinable material includes (a) general marketing knowledge acquired during basic marketing courses such as ABWL Marketing Teil 1 and Teil 2, and (b) contents and literature of the KFK modules “International Marketing” (IM) and “International Marketing Research” (IMR).

 The relevant literature is as follows:

 4.  AFTER THE EXAM

After the exam, we will enter your grade in the electronic system (u:space) and pass the admission form on to the SSC. Should you fail the exam, you have to re-register at the SSC to be admitted to take the exam again. Note that, if you fail, you can elect to switch to take the oral exam in your second KFK if you are a BW student.

Depending on demand, we will offer 1-2 exam dates each semester. The dates are announced on our homepage.
