About Us
The Chair of International Marketing was established in February 2004 and is the first chair of its kind at the University of Vienna. It is held by Univ.-Prof. DDr. Adamantios Diamantopoulos and consists of seven members of staff (four assistant professors, two student assistants and an administrative support.
The Chair's mission is three-fold:
- To provide a rigorous and academically challenging education in the field of international marketing based on the latest theoretical advances and practical challenges.
- To generate high quality research on international marketing issues based on sound theory and robust methodology and ensure a steady stream of research output.
- To promote an international orientation and cultural sensitivity leading to greater understanding of cross-national differences and their implications for marketing practice.
In seeking to fulfill the above aims, our team emphasises research-led teaching, a collaborative spirit and an atmosphere of openness and transparency. We see our students not only as participants in but as co-producers of the learning experience and welcome their involvement in everything we do. We also see ourselves not simply as subject experts but as facilitators trying to inspire, motivate and excite. Not unlike orchestra conductors, we know when we get it right because the music sounds so sweet.
