Publications

Christina Sichtmann joined the University of Vienna in April 2008, where she is working as Research Associate for the Chair of International Marketing. She is visiting professor at the University of Würzburg, Germany and IÉSEG School of Management, France. She also teaches at the Universities of Applied Sciences Burgenland, Krems and Vienna. From 2005 to 2008 she was a juniorprofessor of business-to-business marketing at the Freie Universität Berlin. From 2001 to 2005 she was working at the Chair of Marketing at the University of Hohenheim where she received her PhD in 2005. Previously, she worked for an international management consultancy and in the family-owned company.

Christina Sichtmann is passionate about academic writing and writes a blog about how creative writing techniques can help you writing better papers in a shorter time.

In March 2020 Christina Sichtmann started a podcast series to support students who want to finish their thesis. The podcast "Du schaffst das! Erfolgreich deine Abschlussarbeit schreiben" is available free of charge in all podcast apps (iTunes | Spotify | Blog). Accompanying the podcast, she also launched the Facebook page "Erfolgreich deine Abschlussarbeit schreiben" (Click here). 

 

Research

Her current research interests are in the area of Services and International Marketing and Global Branding. Current research projects deal with Perceived Brand Globalness and Local Connectedness, Feedback Effects of Service Brand Extensions, effects of CSR on Willingness to Pay and Immigrants in Service Processes. Her work has been published in various international journals, including Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of International Marketing, British Journal of Management, European Journal of Marketing, Review of Managerial Science and International Journal of of Production Economics. She serves as associate editor of International Marketing Review and is on the editorial review boards of Industrial Marketing Management and Journal of Business Market Management. She serves as ad-hoc reviewer for such journals as Journal of International Marketing, Journal of Business Research, Review of Managerial Science and Business Research.
